Given the reality of national power shortage both today and in the coming years, the Akbar Group has invested in several eco-friendly power generation facilities in Sri Lanka. A combination of wind and hydroelectric power plants currently supply over 22 Mega Watts of eco-friendly, renewable energy to the National Grid. The Group is currently developing 2 additional wind plants which will contribute a further 20 MW, providing infrastructure which will benefit the country in achieving greater energy security.
